Election Day is Here!
Dear Friends,
Election Day is here – and the finish line is in sight! I approach the final day of our campaign with excitement and anticipation – and wanted to share some personal thoughts.
We live in a beautiful city with amazing and diverse people. However, our city is facing challenges that need some serious help. Public safety, resiliency, and quality of life are my three top priorities, but there is so much more that needs attention. I am running because I know I can help the community I love.
I am proud of the campaign that we have run. It’s truly been a grassroots effort and appreciate the encouragement and support I have received from our community leaders, current and former elected officials, neighborhood associations and the residents. From the kick-off in August to the final days of early voting, I have connected with so many residents. Through our many conversations, many of you have told me you want to see someone at City Hall that you can trust and who will put residents first.
That is exactly the kind of Commissioner I intend to be.
Here is the results link for the November 8th General Election and Miami Beach Special Elections. Results will commence posting at 7:15 pm tonight. Next to each race name you will see a STAR. If you click on the STAR, the race will be added to the “FAVORITE RACES” tab on the upper right-hand side of the webpage, thus filtering only the races you want to follow.
I want to thank my family, friends, and supporters who have been with me all the way. I am so grateful for and honored by your support.
See you at the finish line!

Why I am voting for Laura Dominguez!
Dear Friends,
Laura’s determination to continue Mark’s public service is the level of commitment that defines a true servant of the people – placing the needs of the community above herself. It’s no surprise. For years prior to my election, when I would speak with Mark about important city issues, he would always end the conversation assuring me that he would discuss them with Laura. If the position of a co-commissioner ever existed, that’s who Laura would have been to our late Commissioner Mark Samuelian.
Laura is widely respected as a longtime advocate for the residents, which is why countless community leaders, neighborhood association presidents, civic organizations, and even our police union have strongly endorsed her campaign.
Most importantly, Laura has the pulse of the community – an outstanding knowledge of the challenges our city faces, the initiatives before the City Commission, and the history that has brought us to where we are today.
Laura loves Miami Beach and is ready to lead with her civility, individuality, and independence as our next city commissioner.
Commissioner Alex Fernandez

Last Week of Early Voting!
Dear Neighbor,
We are in our last week of early voting at City Hall and the North Beach Library from 7 am to 7 pm until November 6th. There is free parking and no lines!
Many organizations have endorsed me in this race, including Miami Beach Fraternal Order of Police, CWA (Communication Workers of America), AFCSME (American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees), AFL-CIO (American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations), Miami Realtors, Equality Florida, SAVE Action Pac, Ruth’s List, and SobeSafe to name a few.
I am also honored to have the support of Vice-Mayor Alex Fernandez, Commissioner Kristen Rosen Gonzalez, Fmr Mayor Matti Bower, Fmr Commissioner Michael Góngora, Fmr Commissioner Victor Diaz, Fmr Commissioner Saul Gross, Fmr Commissioner Nancy Liebman, Fmr Commissioner Jose Smith, and Fmr Commissioner Deede Weithorn and many others!
Vice-Mayor Fernandez says, “I trust Laura to be an independent voice that will legislate with the professionalism and civility the public deserves.”
“Laura truly understands our city and is ready to hit the ground running on day one,” said Fmr Commissioner Michael Góngora.
Thursday is our deadline for any contributions to the general election. I would greatly appreciate your support!
I am ready to be your voice at City Hall. Please vote for ballot# 132 in this election!
Sincerely,

Equality Florida & SAVE have endorsed me!
Dear Neighbor,
Happy Fall, Miami Beach! I am proud to share that I have recently received endorsements from Equality Florida and SAVE. Equality Florida’s team dedicates its time to advocating for civil rights and securing full equality for Florida’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community. SAVE (Safeguarding American Values for Everyone) advocates for the rights and protections of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities in South Florida.
My late partner, Commissioner Mark Samuelian, and I were champions for equality and avid supporters of LGBTQ rights. No one should suffer harassment or discrimination based on their sexual orientation or gender identity, or expression.
I am honored to receive both of these endorsements. We must continue our diversity and inclusion in Miami Beach, and I will always advocate my support for LGBTQ causes.
Please consider making a donation to my campaign. Your contribution helps me reach as many voters as possible.
Sincerely,

Laura Dominguez

More Endorsements!
Dear Neighbor,
More endorsements! Candidate screenings and forums are fully underway, and my days are packed with meetings and speaking with residents all across our city. I am honored to report that in addition to the CWA and AFSCME unions, I have received endorsements from the Miami Realtors and the Miami Beach FOP!
The Miami Association of Realtors is comprised of six organizations and is over 100 years old! They care about our properties and the future of our entire community as much as I do.
The Miami Beach Police FOP Lodge 8 represents the brave men and women on our police force. The FOP is tasked with protecting its officers, providing them with the necessary tools to do their jobs, and partnering with both the residents and the businesses in our city.
Public safety is my # 1 priority, and it’s important that the people we trust to keep us safe trust me to be our next city commissioner.
As I continue on the campaign trail, please share with me your thoughts and ideas! I am always available to engage with our residents and businesses.
If you are interested in volunteering with my campaign, please sign up here, and an organizer will follow up with you!

Endorsement Alert!
Dear Neighbor,
Endorsement alert! Now that summer is winding down, my campaign has been busy with candidate screenings and neighborhood association forums. I am very excited to report that I have received endorsements from the local CWA (Communications Workers of America) and AFSCME (American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees) unions!
My father was a machinist for Eastern Airlines and a member of their union for over two decades. I understand the importance of unions fighting for benefits and fair wages for their workers and am very proud to have received these endorsements.
As your Commissioner, I will be focused on our safety and quality of life. Part of that is making sure we have employees that are fairly compensated and engaged to work for us. Our lifeguards and other public safety personnel are trusted to be on the frontline on city issues, and I am honored they have placed their trust in me.
Are you interested in volunteering on our campaign? If you sign up to volunteer today, an organizer will follow up with you ASAP!

Our campaign has qualified to be on the ballot!
Dear Neighbor,
Exciting news! As you may have read in the Miami Herald, I officially qualified to appear on the ballot for the November 8, 2022, Miami Beach special election to fill the seat vacated by my partner, Commissioner Mark Samuelian’s unexpected passing.
I helped Mark when he qualified in the past. I never thought I would find myself in this position, but Mark asked me to continue working on issues and priorities that were important. I wish I could share this moment with Mark because he would be so proud.
Finishing Mark’s legacy isn’t the only reason I’m running. As a partner in his work and an engaged resident, I see urgent areas of city life that need addressing. Public safety, resiliency, and quality of life are all top priorities. I am working now with residents, business owners, and the city to address these concerns.
Please help me continue to share my message of ethical, independent city government out to voters with a contribution to my campaign.
Sincerely,

Laura Dominguez
